After a numerous events in Prishtina Archtitecture Week which included many interesting lectures, screenings and exhibitions, this year’s edition of Prishtina Architecture Week ended with different exhibitions and an architectural tour in Prishtina. This time, the open studio was held in Përparim Rama’s 4M office in Prishtina.

In the last day of the event, evening session began with screening of “Gehry’s Vertigo” from Ila Beka & Louise Lemoine series of documentaries “Living Architectures”. Documentary offered rare “vertiginous” and interesting journey in the most iconic architectural masterpiece in Bilbao – Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum. Part of documentary were the team who are in charge of maintaining the building which showed the complexity of the building as well.

After the screen, the event followed with a lecture by Marta Pozo Gil from the Dutch practice MVRDV. Marta’s lecture was focused in sustainable architecture where she shared to the audience some recent works from MVRDV which focused in sustainable architecture.

Bruno Campos from Belo Horizonte based practice BCMF Arquitetos closed the event with the last lecture from this year’s edition. Campos presented different projects that his practice was involved in, including several sports buildings and interventions in several stadiums in Brazil for 2016 world cup.

Organized by Kosovo’s Architecture Foundation, the first edition of Prishtina Architecture Week was a very successful event in Kosovo and the first of its kind, that attracted many architects and architecture students and brought many well-kown architects from different international practices and organisations such as MVRDV, SADAR+VUGA, Tabanlioglu Architects, BCMF Arquitetos, etc.

We hope that next year’s event will be even more successful and ONUP will bring you the latest news.
